Probably the least said about last night the better
I think with members & fans alike being asked to traipse over to Chelmsford, we at the very least we needed to put on a good show - so that was extremely frustrating.
Without being too critical, we heard in the build up about the 'process', the 'long term vision' and how we felt we had turned the corner during the last three performances last season, we had more experience now, more players were involved in franchise cricket etc. However, once again we concede 200+ and we never look like coming close and an extremely disappointing night leaves me feeling like we've gone backwards
I guess with the benefit of hindsight we can question the selection and to an extent the batting line up, on a night where very little went right
A tough game for the younger bowlers, and hopefully they can bounce back. Its one game in and you hope we see a reaction on Sunday, a crumb of comfort is the team don't have too long to dwell on last night and can hopefully put things right
