To be honest, I don't think Ryan Higgins was left out because we are in a releagation battle with Kent, otherwise how Come Zak Crawley is captaining the side?

Zak is an established centrally contracted England player and the most successful batter in Tests and white ball cricket for England this season. In the absence of other front-line batters, he was the obvious and most experienced candidate to captain the side. By the same token, Zak has only played six times for Kent this season whilst Higgo is the most important and successful member of our side and has not missed a match, hardly a comparison.
