By all accounts, a very big "IF"!

Well, I thought the weather might prevent Middlesex from losing - but it helped Middlesex to win.

Great win. But I do wish batsmen would learn that, when 9 fielders are on the boundary they should be placing the ball in the huge gaps and looking for 2s and 3s, not 4s. Almost all their dot balls and singles in the closing stages were direct to boundary fielders.
Bit of Bazball in it - proving that if you don't try to win, you don't deserve to. And time-wasting, on this occasion by Notts, at the end (Middx would have done just the same) makes a mockery of the regulations. Why bother to have lights if they are not to be used in dark skies?
Not bad to win a match where an oppo batsman has scored 177!

This my first post. This morning I couldn't log on and would have posted lets hope it will rain all day. Amazing run chase. My view was radio commentary one. Can't understand why with 4 an over needed Notts have all fielders on boundary. Broad very expensive. Seemed a farce at end with winning run by our "tailender" Robbo. Great to be back posting. , especially under these circumstances.

From a Surrey member: Well done Middlesex - and credit to Notts for sacrificing a guaranteed draw for the hope of a win, and in the end a great match. This will kick-start the Season for Middlesex.

A great result for the Seaxes (at last!) - "Bazball Works - OK!!!"
